Managing Partner
Jonathan Saltzman
Jonathan Saltzman co-founded Torque Capital Group in 2009. The financial crisis had left strong manufacturing businesses without the capital or support they needed to grow. He saw an opportunity to build a different kind of firm: one that would invest in fewer companies, commit its full team to each one, lead with a people-first orientation, and give management the time and resources to execute. Fifteen years later, that model hasn't changed.
As Managing Partner, Jonathan oversees all aspects of the firm and its investment process. Under his leadership, Torque has built a diverse portfolio of partnerships with business owners and management teams across transportation, mobility, aerospace, and defense, completing multiple platform and add-on acquisitions along the way.
Before founding Torque, Jonathan held roles in private equity at The Cypress Group, investment banking at Salomon Brothers, and corporate finance at TNT N.V. in Amsterdam. He began his career as a CPA with Ernst & Young in New York after graduating with highest distinction from Emory University, and later earned his MBA from The Anderson School at UCLA.

Terry Culmone
Terry Culmone joined Torque Capital Group in 2020 after nearly fifteen years in traditional private equity. He had worked with Torque's founding partners for years and knew the team well. When the opportunity came to join a firm built around a concentrated portfolio and hands-on operational partnership, he made the move.
At Torque, Terry is involved in every stage of the investment process: sourcing, structuring, and executing growth and add-on acquisition strategies with each portfolio company's leadership. He operates as an extension of each company's leadership, focused on business development, strategic acquisitions, and the operational work that drives long-term performance.
Terry began his career in the Leveraged Finance Group at Bear, Stearns & Co. before moving into private equity at The Cypress Group, where he first worked alongside Jonathan Saltzman. He went on to become a Partner at Dominus Capital. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Bucknell University, where he also started and ran several consumer internet businesses.

Anthony Vedella
Anthony Vedella joined Torque Capital Group after a career on the deal side of accounting and investment banking. He began at KPMG Deal Advisory, where he earned his CPA license, before moving to the Investment Banking Division at Jefferies in New York. At Jefferies he worked on mergers and acquisitions, debt financings, and equity raises for public and private companies, watching how middle-market businesses grow, raise capital, and transact.
At Torque, Anthony works across every stage of an investment: sourcing opportunities, evaluating businesses, executing transactions, and working alongside portfolio company management to monitor and support performance long after a deal closes. With a small, committed team, every partnership gets that level of attention from start to finish.
Anthony holds a degree in Accounting from the University at Buffalo.
